I began my carpet career as a carpet padder for Dave Taylor and Associates in Salt Lake City in the summer of 1984. Taylors hired a crew of young men to go in front of the carpet installers and install the carpet tack, and pad. I loved this job but that winter my family moved to St. George, Utah. After arriving in St. George, I attended Dixie College to become an auto mechanic but learned after a few short semesters that wasn’t for me. A few years later I received a call from my older brother inviting me to move back to Salt Lake and become his carpet apprentice. We worked together for ten years until I was called back to St. George to help my widowed mother manage the Family Thrift Store. I again attended Dixie College, this time for a graphic design degree.
Before we became a retail carpet store, we made our living repairing carpet.
We still like to offer this service as not everyone has the luxury of
replacing their carpet, so I started freelancing, sales, installation, and repairs. This grew into bigger and better things for me. In 2004 I opened Mr. Karpet at 267 No Bluff. It only took a few years to grow out of that location, which brought me to my present location, the Ence Insurance Building at 216 W St. George, Blvd #E.
In an effort to keep my prices down, I run the whole show by myself, from sales to installation. Due to the grace of God and my dedication to my dream, I have survived the competition from the larger carpet retailers and big box stores. I credit this success to my loyalty to the people of St. George and my determination to make sure every customer I work with is 100% satisfied with my work and service. When it’s all said and done, I guarantee you’ll be happy you called Mr. Karpet.
Please give me the opportunity to earn your business. When it comes to carpet, I’m an expert and I’m confident I can use this expertise to provide you with the right carpet, at the right price. I provide a variety of services to meet almost any carpet or flooring needs. Please don’t hesitate to call me at (435) 467-9747 or visit my store in the Ence Insurance Building, 216 W. St. George Blvd. Ste. E.
Sincerely,
Frank Adams
